Bay Reps head coach Ryan Fedorinchik said there were good efforts despite the loss. Fedorinchik pointed to Vinny Dean, who "worked his tail off," as well as Jake Stevenson, Scott Crawford and Chris Denewth.
Portage Northern was led by Drew Fitzgerald, who had a goal and added three assists. Grant Ernst also had a goal and a helper, and Quinten Rosenbloom scored Portage Northern's empty-netter.
Traverse City (0-2) gets into some holiday action when the Bay Reps head to Big Rapids for a Thanksgiving tournament beginning next Friday.
